We had beautiful weather (80 degrees and sunny with a light North wind) for our Kayak-O. We had 25 boats start and 19 teams turn in their score cards (some went as a group, or flotilla).
Unfortunately, we misjudged the tide levels when setting the course. For example, #9 was 2 feet above the water when we set it and a foot under water at high tide. Amazingly, almost all of the participants found it, although many said it was "challenging."
Congratulations to Havard, a young Norwegian, who took first in both events, beating some very good Orienteers and double Kayaks. Must be the Viking blood.
